The TEKMOTIVE Racing Fireblades of Ant Smith & Mark Bergman - we originally wanted to race these Blades in Endurance Racing, the plan being that although not ultra competitive any more they would still be reliable, fuel consumption friendly and still be able to keep up a good strong pace - However that plan was short lived as we were unable to get race entries because the series was already oversubscribed - So we took them Power Bike racing instead with BEMSEE (British Motorcycle Race Series) Even tho' they were supposedley old hat and unable to live with the latest R1's and GSXR's we were able to obtain some good top ten finishes and even qualified them to race in the televised National Power Bike Tour on Sky Sports at that time - but as with all small teams lack of funds limited our participation. after a couple of years of developing the Blades we had a decision to make, did we throw loads of money at them to try and make them more competitive or buy newer more competitive bikes? well not much choice really, even spending on the Blades might only give them another years racing and then we would still be in the same quandry - thats when we obtained Yamaha R1's
